MINING

How we at TYRI understand your needs

Mining machinery is monstrous, for example, the mining dump truck which is designed to carry huge loads, the mining excavator, the articulated truck, and wheel loaders. Here size does matter, especially in this industry where time is of the essence and it’s all about getting the job done, fast, effectively, and sufficiently.

This is where TYRI really comes into its own by testing all work lights under some of the toughest conditions in the industry to meet the demands of the mining industry. By using our latest technology like the INTELLilight® or glass lenses (dust burns lenses in mines) to our Mint green lighting we are always finding new and smart innovative solutions.

TYRI offers

  • Evenly and correctly placed work lights on Forest Machinery and Forest Trucks
  • Offering unique and quality lighting equals safety, equals productivity
  • Create different light patterns with different lenses
  • Everything is tested in the TYRI Test Lab
  • 100% tested in production
  • Delivery customization to OEMs
  • Choose the right lights = fewer needed = save money
  • Quality will always pay off in the long run. That is why we have the best solution to optimize your working environment.
  • People with years of knowledge at your fingertips, waiting to help you
  • Some customers – Epiroc, Komatsu, Minemaster, GHH Fahrzeug

Summary

TYRI always adheres to these high standards to all its range of work lights in order to achieve the IP69K approval award. This gives you peace of mind that no matter what covers your equipment, TYRI lights will be rinsed clean and ready to perform once more.

TYRI LED DRIVE LIGHT

In underground mines, the conditions are dusty and confined. The environment also offers low visual contrasts. The challenge is to find suitable lighting with a good colour rendering to increase visibility and to enable workers to carry out their roles safely. This dump truck is equipped with TYRI LED drive light; HL Compact, specifically designed to provide more light to the sides than standard headlights and allowing for higher installation. Also fitted are TYRI LED work lights and reverse lights for illumination at long and short distances as well as confined spaces.

QUALITY AWARENESS

A standstill in a mine can result in high costs. Therefore LED work lights must be durable and reliable. The Unitrac transporters are versatile tool carriers and used not only in the agriculture and municipal sector, but also in the mining sector. Equipped with TYRI’s LED work light 0909.

WARNING LIGHTS IN MINING

Using a combination of work lights to provide even and effective lighting and the 1010 RedBeam to provide effective visual warning barrier to colleagues on the ground makes for an impressive lighting set up overall.

INTELLilight®

With the ability to change the colour temperatures of the light from 2700 K to 6500 K and the automatic dimming function, INTELLilight® is ideally suited to solve lighting problems in difficult environments such as dust or snow.

MINT GREEN LIGHTING

Placoplatre specializes in the extraction of gypsum in France. While using white LED lights the operator’s found visibility was drastically reduced by light reflecting off white dust particles which caused issues with productivity and safety. Using a different colour temperature helps provide significant improvements in productivity and safety by giving better visibility.

THE BIG GUIDE

THE IMPORTANCE OF TESTING & APPROVALS

Testing and Approvals for Mining

EMC EN55025 / CISPR 25

It is of vital importance, especially on emergency or military vehicles, that lighting does not affect control systems, cameras, on-board computers and other radio sensitive equipment. This is why TYRI lights are scrutinised to ensure they do not interfere with EMC functionality.

IP 69K

IP 69K ratings offers complete peace of mind that the work light you are installing has undergone rigorous tests to ensure it is both durable and conforms to the highest standards on the scale of protection against water, moisture and dust ingress.

Vibration testing

TYRI lights undergo extensive vibration testing, for up to 8 hours on all axes, above 10 Grms at a frequency range from 5 – 2000 Hz. This simulates the forces applied to the lights once mounted on off highway machines.

Salt spray testing

TYRI lights undergo rigorous salt spray testing to ensure they are approved to ASTMB117 standards. This ensures that even in corrosive environments, TYRI lights will continue to perform.

Shock testing

As well as vibration testing, TYRI lights undergo shock testing to a force of 50G. This ensures that TYRI lights will withstand punishment from your work environment.

Environmental testing

TYRI lights tested in hot and cold temperatures, as well as humidity, for a minimum of 50 days. They are tested in conditions up to -40C° to +85C° and up to 90% humidity.

Polarity / Overheating / Overvoltage Protection

TYRI lights have built in temperature sensing circuits which reduce the output to regulate the temperature of the light. This prevent damage to the LED’s that can result in premature failure. TYRI LED lights are also reverse polarity protected in the event of incorrect installation. Should the wires become crossed during connection, TYRI lights will not turn on until the wires have been connected in the correct configuration, protecting the LEDs and associated circuitry.
