TYRI lighting solutions are engineered to perform in mining’s extreme conditions. From haul trucks and loaders to drills and underground machines, our LED work lights deliver powerful, reliable illumination that cuts through dust, darkness, and long operating hours. With rugged durability, proven OEM integration, and advanced optics, TYRI work lights keep mining operations safe and productive above and below ground.
TYRI Mining Lighting
Heavy-Duty Glass Lens Options
In mining, work lights face constant exposure to flying debris, heavy vibration, and abrasive dust. TYRI glass lenses are engineered to withstand these extreme conditions and can easily be replaced if damaged, helping to minimise costly downtime. They also allow operators to swap lens patterns when different beam spreads are required, delivering maximum versatility across both surface and underground operations.
Currently, glass lens options are available on the TYRI 1010 XP-9 and 1313 models.
Extreme Power
The TYRI 1323 LED work light delivers a huge 16,500 effective lumens, providing outstanding illumination for large-scale mining operations where visibility is critical. Its curved design and 60° trunnion mount allow flexible installation on haul trucks, loaders, and light masts. With a durable housing and 4,000 K colour temperature for reduced glare and eye strain, the 1323 ensures safer, more efficient work in both underground and surface mining environments.
1313 LED Work Light for Demanding Environments
The TYRI 1313 LED work light delivers powerful, reliable illumination for OEMs operating in the toughest conditions. Used by Epiroc for underground mining lighting, it combines heavy-duty construction with integrated vibration dampers to resist shock, dust, and movement. Available with outputs of 5,700 or 8,000 effective lumens and in 4,000 K or 5,700 K colour temperatures, it provides optimal visibility tailored to different working conditions.
INTELLilight® Lighting System for Mining
TYRI INTELLilight® brings smart adaptability to mining operations by allowing operators to adjust colour temperature from 2700 K to 6500 K. Warmer tones cut through dust and haze in underground tunnels, while cooler tones enhance contrast in open-pit environments. This flexibility not only improves visibility and depth perception but also reduces eye fatigue during long shifts. With automatic dimming and wireless control, TYRI’s INTELLilight® lighting system ensures the right light at the right time, helping miners work more safely and effectively in the toughest conditions.
TYRI LED Driving Light
Mining environments are dusty, low-contrast, and confined, so demand precise, durable lighting. The TYRI HL Compact LED drive light provides strong lateral illumination and reliable performance in tunnels and haul routes. Building on this proven design, the new TYRI DLM-09 Bi-LED driving light headlight offers easy installation and compatibility with standard mounting systems, making it ideal for OEM production, retrofitting, or use as a spare part.
See the Details That Matter
The TYRI 1010 Hi-CRI LED work light delivers exceptional colour rendering (CRI 90), helping mining operators distinguish between rock types, soil variations, and material quality. With a 4,000 K colour temperature, this mining light also reduces reflections and glare in dusty or reflective underground conditions. Compact, durable, and high-performance, the 1010 Hi CRI LED work light enhances visibility and precision, making it an ideal choice of mining lighting for safe, efficient operations in demanding mining environments.
Lighting Challenges in Mining
Both surface and underground mining operations demand work lights that performs in environments where failure is not an option. OEMs need lighting solutions that maintain visibility, safety, and compliance in some of the most extreme conditions imaginable.
Key challenges include:
- Constant vibration and shock: from heavy machinery and uneven terrain.
 - Abrasive dust and debris: causing lens wear and reduced light output.
 - High humidity and water exposure: including high-pressure washdowns.
 - Long duty cycles: with machines running 24/7, lights must deliver consistent, reliable performance without premature failure.
 - Operator fatigue: poor beam patterns or glare reduce visibility, slow efficiency, and increase the risk of accidents.

Applications Across Mining Machinery
TYRI OEM lighting solutions power visibility in:
- Haul trucks
 - Wheel loaders
 - Drilling rigs
 - Continuous miners
 - Excavators
 - Underground loaders and haulers

Testing and Approvals for Mining
Vibration testing
Haul trucks, loaders, and drill rigs generate constant vibration from heavy-duty operation. TYRI mining lights are tested for up to 8 hours on all axes at 10 Grms across a 5–2000 Hz frequency range to simulate the extreme forces experienced in mining, ensuring long-term reliability and structural integrity.
Shock testing
Impacts and jolts from loading, blasting, and rough terrain are part of daily mining operations. TYRI minning lights are tested to withstand up to 50G shock forces, ensuring continued performance and safety after heavy impacts.
IP 69K
Mining exposes lighting to water spray, dust, and mud on a daily basis. TYRI IP69K-rated lights undergo rigorous testing to guarantee complete protection against high-pressure water, moisture, and fine dust ingress — ensuring dependable performance in the harshest underground and surface conditions.
Environmental testing
Mining sites face temperature extremes and high humidity, from deep-freeze shafts to hot, humid open pits. TYRI mining lights are tested from −40 °C to +85 °C and up to 90 % humidity for at least 50 days, ensuring consistent performance and longevity in any environment.
Salt spray testing
Mining environments can be highly corrosive — especially in underground tunnels and coastal or humid regions. TYRI mining lights are tested to ASTM B117 salt spray standards, ensuring resistance to corrosion and maintaining optical performance even after prolonged exposure to harsh atmospheric conditions.
EMC EN55025 / CISPR 25
In underground and open-pit mines, reliable communication and machine control systems are vital for safety. TYRI mining lights are tested to strict EMC standards to ensure they do not interfere with critical on-board electronics, cameras, or wireless networks, maintaining uninterrupted operation in high-risk environments.
Polarity / Overheating / Overvoltage Protection
Electrical systems in mining machinery can experience power surges, wiring errors, or overheating during long shifts. TYRI mining lights include built-in temperature regulation, overvoltage protection, and reverse polarity safeguards to prevent LED damage, minimise maintenance, and reduce downtime.
