EMERGENCY VEHICLES

THE FUTURE OF WORK LIGHT
All about INTELLilight®

Many operations undertaken by the emergency services take place in darkness and bad weather conditions which impact vision. Rain, fog, hail and snow all impair vision. In addition, smoke from burning houses or vehicles as well as rescue activities cause stress. Good illumination of at the scene of the emergency is of utmost importance and it supports the responders in their dangerous work.

It is essential to find the right balance between too much lighting and too poor lighting on an emergency vehicle. Too much lighting can lead to undesired effects, such as reflections and blinding of people close to the place of the incident. Too poor lighting can cause accidents. The key to success is even lighting at the place of accident and optimal light distribution.

LED SCENE LIGHTING: Fire Fighting Vehicles & Power Generators

1323 LED work light is a powerful product that enables a wide illumination of the place of the accident. This scene lighting can be mounted on the mast of fire fighting vehicles as well as on power generators. It has a colour temperature of 4000 K, an even light distribution and is available both with symmetric and wide symmetric light pattern. 16500 effective lumen, 4.7 kg, only 150 W. Voltage range of 18 to 32 V and 230 V.

LED SCENE LIGHTING: Other vehicles

Equipped with vibration dampers, the 1010 can be mounted on the mast, but also on the basket, on the roof or under the windshield of large fire fighting vehicles.

LED SCENE LIGHTING For baskets

This basket is equipped with TYRI’s 1010 LED work lights which are mounted in a position to illuminate straight forward at the house walls as well as downwards to illuminate the area on the ground.

DESIGN MATTERS

The VL4 and VL6 with its stylish streamline design and small dimensions are used on firefighting vehicles and ambulances as well as other mobile machinery. The oblong design enables incorporation in the vehicle’s design. Available with thru bolt or bracket mount, different lumen outputs and voltage ranges.

SPECIALIST LIGHTING

Some LED work lights lend themselves for use in special tasks. The 1010 WhitePoint was developed for fire monitors but can also be used as a search light. Mounted next to the fire monitor it has the advantage that the light is directed in a way that the light rays do not mix with water.

THE BIG GUIDE

THE IMPORTANCE OF TESTING & APPROVALS

Testing and Approvals for Emergency Vehicle Lighting

EMC EN55025 / CISPR 25

It is of vital importance, especially on emergency or military vehicles, that lighting does not affect control systems, cameras, on-board computers and other radio sensitive equipment. This is why TYRI lights are scrutinised to ensure they do not interfere with EMC functionality.

IP 69K

IP 69K ratings offers complete peace of mind that the work light you are installing has undergone rigorous tests to ensure it is both durable and conforms to the highest standards on the scale of protection against water, moisture and dust ingress.

Vibration testing

TYRI lights undergo extensive vibration testing, for up to 8 hours on all axes, above 10 Grms at a frequency range from 5 – 2000 Hz. This simulates the forces applied to the lights once mounted on off highway machines.

Salt spray testing

TYRI lights undergo rigorous salt spray testing to ensure they are approved to ASTMB117 standards. This ensures that even in corrosive environments, TYRI lights will continue to perform.

Shock testing

As well as vibration testing, TYRI lights undergo shock testing to a force of 50G. This ensures that TYRI lights will withstand punishment from your work environment.

Environmental testing

TYRI lights tested in hot and cold temperatures, as well as humidity, for a minimum of 50 days. They are tested in conditions up to -40C° to +85C° and up to 90% humidity.

Polarity / Overheating / Overvoltage Protection

TYRI lights have built in temperature sensing circuits which reduce the output to regulate the temperature of the light. This prevent damage to the LED’s that can result in premature failure. TYRI LED lights are also reverse polarity protected in the event of incorrect installation. Should the wires become crossed during connection, TYRI lights will not turn on until the wires have been connected in the correct configuration, protecting the LEDs and associated circuitry.
