THE FUTURE OF WORK LIGHT
All about INTELLilight®

Predictions are that the electric vehicle revolution in off highway industries is set to continue at a rapid pace. This quiet take over has many OE manufacturers racing to be the leading force in this new field of equipment.

However, with quieter and cleaner engines, additional safety concerns become apparent. Warning and lighting systems need to be much more visual, so workers identify when a machine is approaching and from which direction. This is where effective lighting is key to safety, especially since electric vehicles can provide a bigger horse power without added noise or fumes to enclosed working spaces; like those underground.

LED lighting technology can also increase the run time for electric and hydrogen vehicles as they draw less energy, on an EV that reduction in current draw can offer as much as a six mile boost in range on a single charge.

Working with OEM’s, we can design work lights that sit perfectly on your machine and provide the maximum usable light to the area you need it the most. Using the latest technology, we take a view of the actual vehicle design along with any of its parts which may obstruct the light. This, coupled with a view of the terrain and application, enable us to determine and design the best possible solution to your lighting requirement.

TERBERG BENSCHOP

TYRI HL Compact LED drive light and HL Compact Turn Signal use LED technology for lower amp draw and better illumination in front of the vehicle. Working alongside Terberg’s fleet of electric vehicles.

KOMATSU EV

Proterra and Komatsu have announced a collaboration to electrify underground mining machines. These machines are equipped with TYRI 1010 LED work lights helping to increase run time by drawing less energy and giving effective illumination.

TOYOTA TRAIGO80

TYRI are proud to have worked alongside Toyota Material Handling to create a custom rear lighting bar for their Traigo80, a top-of-the-range, heavy-duty electric forklift. The lighting system brings together full rear lighting functionality of brake warning, turn and reverse signals in one stylish unit which fits the clean look of the Toyota Traigo80. This unit is exclusive to Toyota Material Handling and showcases what can be achieved in lighting design by TYRI working alongside OE manufacturers.

THE BIG GUIDE

THE IMPORTANCE OF TESTING & APPROVALS

Testing and Approvals for Electric & Hydrogen Powered Vehicles

EMC EN55025 / CISPR 25

It is of vital importance, especially on emergency or military vehicles, that lighting does not affect control systems, cameras, on-board computers and other radio sensitive equipment. This is why TYRI lights are scrutinised to ensure they do not interfere with EMC functionality.

IP 69K

IP 69K ratings offers complete peace of mind that the work light you are installing has undergone rigorous tests to ensure it is both durable and conforms to the highest standards on the scale of protection against water, moisture and dust ingress.

Vibration testing

TYRI lights undergo extensive vibration testing, for up to 8 hours on all axes, above 10 Grms at a frequency range from 5 – 2000 Hz. This simulates the forces applied to the lights once mounted on off highway machines.

Salt spray testing

TYRI lights undergo rigorous salt spray testing to ensure they are approved to ASTMB117 standards. This ensures that even in corrosive environments, TYRI lights will continue to perform.

Shock testing

As well as vibration testing, TYRI lights undergo shock testing to a force of 50G. This ensures that TYRI lights will withstand punishment from your work environment.

Environmental testing

TYRI lights tested in hot and cold temperatures, as well as humidity, for a minimum of 50 days. They are tested in conditions up to -40C° to +85C° and up to 90% humidity.

Polarity / Overheating / Overvoltage Protection

TYRI lights have built in temperature sensing circuits which reduce the output to regulate the temperature of the light. This prevent damage to the LED’s that can result in premature failure. TYRI LED lights are also reverse polarity protected in the event of incorrect installation. Should the wires become crossed during connection, TYRI lights will not turn on until the wires have been connected in the correct configuration, protecting the LEDs and associated circuitry.
